What changed and when.

2026-10-07

  • Access: existing Dragonfly merchants request API access in the merchant portal (/api-access); keys are created there after approval. Keys stop working when an account is deactivated (403 MERCHANT_INACTIVE).
  • Dragonfly routing mode: orders can be held for Dragonfly to build daily routes (dispatchedTo: "dragonfly_routing"); the order's status follows its stop on the route.
  • Errors: VALIDATION_ERROR now includes details[] per field; invalid JSON returns INVALID_JSON; every /v1 error uses { "error": { "code", "message" } }.
  • Time windows: ISO 8601 timestamps with a time-zone offset (e.g. -07:00) are accepted, not only Z.
  • Discovery: OpenAPI 3.1 at /v1/openapi.json, interactive reference at /v1/reference, /v1 index and /llms.txt.
  • MCP: new dragonfly_cancel_order tool.

  • Webhooks: self-managed endpoints under /v1/webhooks with Svix-compatible signatures, retries, delivery logs and test sends; a Nash + Onfleet compatible event catalog.

  • Routes: multi-stop orders dispatch a pickup task plus every dropoff as one route.
  • Proof & requirements: signature, photo, ID/age check, PIN, barcodes and item checklists per stop.

  • Launch: self-serve signup with admin approval, instant sandbox keys (dfk_test_), production keys (dfk_live_), CLI and MCP server.
